CHAP Training TABE Test

Community Health Aide Trainees (CHA/T) are required to demonstrate a 6th-grade education equivalent (8th grade in some regions). To achieve this we administer The Adult Basic Education Test or TABE test. The test is performed on an iPad using the DRC Insight app or can be installed on a desktop computer. A test proctor is required to administer and monitor the test. It’s also important to take the test in a location with reliable internet.

Note: The Anchorage CHAP Training Center has switched to the TABE 11 and 12 versions. The 9/10 version has been discontinued. Due to advances in education, the TABE Test is now more difficult. Before taking the TABE test we recommend a CHA/T take a practice test to ensure they will understand how to do the new reading and math questions. Many study materials are available online such as practice tests, explainers, and youtube videos.

To administer or take a TABE test or for more information contact Kyle von Bose or Frances Klotz at the Anchorage CHAP office. Please include the student’s name and date of birth.
