American Cancer Society, Cancer Action Network’s Virtual Policy Forum
August 27 @ 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
Welcome to the 11th Annual, American Cancer Society, Cancer Action Network’s virtual Policy Forum on August 27th at 8:30am. The topic this year is, Healthy Youth: Cancer Prevention for the Next Generation of Alaskans. We chose this topic because we recognize that cancer prevention starts in childhood. We will be exploring what is known about what causes cancer, what risk factors we can change, and how those efforts are progressing in Alaska. Specific areas include the intersection of alcohol consumption and cancer risk, vaping prevention, the HPV vaccine as cancer prevention and the importance of cultural activities in a holistic approach to prevention.
Registration is free and open to the public.
