Dental Health Aide Therapist Practitioner DHATP
Dental Health Aide Therapists/Practitioners (DHAT/DHATPs) receive three academic years of education through the Iḷisaġvik College/ANTHC Alaska Dental Therapy Educational Program or another Commission on Dental Accreditation accredited program. DHATs can provide diagnosis and treatment planning, cleanings, sealants, fillings and extractions.
Dental Health Aide Therapist Practitioner Certification
All Dental Health Aides earn certification from the Alaska Community Health Aide Program Certification Board.
Send credentialing documents as outlined in Credentialing Guidelines above to ADTEP via email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Completed applications will be forwarded by the ADTEP Administrative Team to the CHAPCB Department.
The CHAPCB office receives, screens and tracks all applications for certification. The Board currently meets three times a year, meeting dates are posted on the https://akchap.org website. Formal action to approve/deny applications is during regular Board meetings.
Applications may be submitted in an electronically scanned format or by hard copy.
