DHA Continuing Education
Requirements for all Dental Health Aides: 24 continuing education hours are required for recertification
- 24 continuing education hours are required for recertification10 hours must cover one or more of the course of study subjects or competencies of DHAs
- 4 hours of the required 24 hours can be related to emergency medicine (this includes BLS)
- All but the 4 hours of emergency medicine must be related to the practice of dentistry.

- Certified CHA/P Training Center
- American Dental Association (ADA CERP)
- Academy of General Dentistry (AGC PACE)
- Alaska Dental Society (ADS)
- Alaska Dental Hygiene Society (ADHS)
- Accredited postsecondary educational institution
- Indian Health Service (IHS) or other agencies of the Federal government
- Emergency care course approved by the State of Alaska, Indian Health Service, American Heart Association (AHA), or American Red Cross
