Who qualifies to be a BHA/P?
A Behavioral Health Aide/Practitioner (BHA/P) is a job class and certification type created for use within the Alaska Tribal Health System (ATHS). Individuals must meet specific criteria to qualify for certification as a BHA/P.
To qualify for BHA/P certification, individuals must answer yes to all the criteria listed below:
- Employed by a Tribal Health Organization (THO) within the Alaska Tribal Health System
- Supervised by a master’s level or above clinician
- Provide behavioral health services to clients or community members
